EASING UNBEARABLE BURDENS SINCE 1953
FOUNDED IN HOUSTON TX
Founded in Houston Texas, The 100 Club is a citizen funded non-profit organization that began in 1953, which provides financial assistance to the dependents of law enforcement officers and firefighters who are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty in 32 counties surrounding Houston.
A HISTORY OF SUPPORT
Our history reflects the hearts of our members and donors that have been generous since 1953, and we’ve been able to grow significantly over the last 70 years because of them!
1953 | The Founding
THE 5 FOUNDERS
A group of five men consisting of Leopold L. Meyer, Ray R. Elliot, R. H. Abercrombie, William A. “Bill” Smith, and Jim “Silver Dollar” West realized the need to support the dependents of Houston police officers killed in the line of duty. They motivated 100 people to contribute $100 each toward the dependent family member of a Houston Police Officer who had been killed in the line of duty.

CELEBRATING COURAGE
The 100 Club has been honoring the brave men and women who go above and beyond the call of duty since 1954 by hosting an Annual Heroes Awards Banquet. We proudly honor, award, and share their heroic acts.

The Future
THE 100 CLUB TODAY
Today, the 100 Club has a robust membership base and is a recognized non-profit, charitable organization made up of people just like you. Our core mission is to extend financial assistance to the families of law enforcement officers and firefighters who tragically lose their lives or sustain serious injuries while performing their duties within the 32 counties around Houston and state-wide law enforcement agencies.
THE 100 CLUB TODAY
The 100 Club has grown a lot in 70 years, but our mission has remained the same. Our focus of serving the brave men and women who put their lives at risk every day has not waivered, but strengthened.
The 100 Club provides immediate financial assistance to the dependent families of law enforcement officers and firefighters who are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty. We also provide life-protecting equipment to local law enforcement agencies who could not otherwise afford it and replace service animals who are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.
