Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jesus Vargas, who was assigned to the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force, was shot and killed in the line of duty while attempting to serve a felony warrant on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

Deputy Vargas is survived by his wife and three young children.
