Brazos County Precinct 3 Volunteer Fire Department Volunteer Firefighter William Richard “Dick” Danes died in the line of duty, on May 17, 2012, while participating in a ladder training exercise at the Texas Engineering Extension Service’s Brayton Fire Training Field in College Station. Firefighter Danes is survived by his wife and a son and daughter.
