Metropolitan Transit Authority Motorcycle Officer Elias “Sonny” Martinez, 56, was killed in the line of duty after succumbing to injuries he received in a motorcycle accident on September 8, 2017 on the Gulf Freeway at Farm Road 646. Officer Martinez is survived by his wife, and two sons.
